POLICY:
when Traverse City Area Public Schools close due to bad
weather,
the Senior Center is also closed, and scheduled programs are
canceled. In some instances, if the weather clears, evening
programs
may
take place. It always is best to call ahead when in question.

General
Information: Traverse
City's Senior Center is
situated on beautiful City park land, along the beaches of Grand
Traverse Bay; and serves more than 3,000 senior annually. Our
programs
are designed for persons 50 years of age and older. Our beach
and
tennis and shuffleboard courts are open to the general
public. Tennis
courts are reserved daily from 7:00 am to Noon for senior
leagues.
Shuffleboard and Pickleball equipment is available for rent at a
nominal charge.
The Senior Center
building is open:
- Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to
6:00 pm
- Sunday from Noon to 4:00 pm
- Members and guests are always welcome!
A
Receptionist will greet you with a smile, and is prepared to answer
your questions about Senior Center programs, or other services you may
require.
Membership is open to
the general public. Please see our Membership

information on memberships.
We host more than 100
different programs, classes, and activities monthly. Please
see the Our
Programs page, or call us at 231-922-4911, or stop in for a
program schedule.
Participation
Criteria
Due to the limitations
of the facility and the
availability of staff, those participating in Senior Center programs
should be able to address their own personal needs. Persons
with
special needs are welcome, but must be accompanied by someone able to
assist them.

Center, as well as other services available in the community.

Zumba
Gold
A new dance/exercise class has started - Zumba Gold. Classes
are $5 each, or you can purchase a punch card for $45 for 10
classes. Some classes are held at the Grand Traverse Band
Education
Center at 845 Business Park Drive, Traverse City, Michigan 49686, just
east of Three Mile Road; and the rest will be held at our Senior

T BA Spa Days are
Back!
February 9 and 10, 2010 by appointment, you can enjoy three spa
services for only $15! Call TBA School of Cosmetology at
922-6319 to make an appointment for two services, at which time they
will give you a certificate for your third service at another
time. They're located at the Career-Tech Center, 880 Parsons
Road,
Traverse City, Michigan 49686, between Balsam and Mitchell and Balsam.
The students look forward to this event every year, and it
sells out fast! Your 2010 membership to the Traverse City
Senior Center must be current to participate. Don't delay -
call now!
